About ARMSU

ARMSU is Network SA’s Indigenous support arm.  We provide:

Specialist advice and support services for Aboriginal  children’s services as SA’s Indigenous Professional Support Unit (IPSU).   We assist with advice about management committees, staffing, policy development, budgeting, planning, resources / equipment, activities / programming and negotiation. We provide training, and develop resources to support managers /directors of Aboriginal children’s services.  Regular state-wide meetings and seminars are held with service representatives. We work with child care directors, managers, community councils, management committees, staff and community members.  ARMSU ensures the representation of Aboriginal children’s services on State based and national decision making and policy making bodies.

Support for a smooth transition into care for Indigenous children and families enrolling in child care is provided through the Indigenous Bicultural support program.  Through this program, staff from mainstream and Aboriginal services can access specific cultural advice and information and support in developing inclusive programming.

Resources for loan through the ARMSU Resource Centre.
